These dancers performed clogging, jazz, lyrical and musical theater dances for all the spectators. The men and women who serve protecting the citizens and property in our community are Heroes. The Elite Stars wanted to thank these courageous public servants. After spending an evening baking, the girls delivered cookies, cakes, and brownies to area firefighters and rescue squads. They were greeted with open arms, given tours of the local facilities and even given the opportunity to slide down the fire pole. The Smiles on the faces of the rescue workers and firefighters were a perfect ending to a wonderful evening.

On Saturday, April 28th, 2012 the UCDC clogging teams attended the 2012 ClogFest
Clogging Competition in Brevard, N.C. UCDC did outstanding with 7 teams in the
dance-off. Congratulations to Shooting Stars Amateur for winning Overall Grand

They were both accepted into multiple Joffrey ballet programs, which included LA, NYC and Georgia. They also received acceptance to attend the Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary summer programs. They will be attending a one week Joffrey Advanced Ballet program in Georgia on 11 June 2012. The special quest choreographer at their intensive is Jamal Sims whose choreography work can be seen in Footloose, Step Up, Step Up 2, Step Up 3D, Hairspray, Madonna tour, Academy awards and many more. Congratulations again on your accomplishment! We are very proud of you girls.

We had 47 dancers volunteer from the Clogging and Jazz companies and many of their parents for this all day event. The event began with the running of the Olympic torch and the parade of athletes. We were excited to get to see our very own Shelby run with the torch, who is in the Challengers dance class. The athletes were age 8 – 60+ and they had a full day of softball distance throws, running, basketball, bean bag toss, etc. Some of the dancers were buddies with the special needs athletes, while others manned the tent to hand out water, free toys, snacks and popsicles. It was a rewarding day for our UCDC family to assist others in our community. Thanks again because you truly demonstrated our “212” motto!

They joined forces with a group from Mt. Airy Church, which has been ministering in this Greenville area for the past seven years. The church serves a hot home cooked meal and passes out much needed supplies to the homeless in downtown Greenville. This is a much anticipated event for this community which performs this service every third Saturday of each month. The Senior Jazz members were able to serve up a full course Christmas dinner and distribute clothing and toiletry items. The dancers were able to bless many less fortunate and again see how truly blessed they are to have families who provide so much.
