Reagan Foster was crowned Saturday, January 23rd as our new Miss Clemson Teen. She will compete in July for the title of Miss South Carolina Teen. She also won Talent in the Teen Division. Congratulations Reagan, we are so proud of you.

UCDC Cloggers Compete at CCA Nationals

On Friday and Saturday, January 28th and 29th, 7 UCDC clogging teams attended the 2010 CCA National Clogging Competition in Spartanburg, SC. UCDC competed against some of the best teams in the country. Despite the bad weather and icy conditions almost everyone made it to compete. Congratulations to all the solos, teams, and choreographed solos that competed. We are so proud of you!!!!

Former UCDC Student Wesley Quinn teaches new moves to Shining/Elite Stars

Wesley Quinn came back to UCDC to share his passion and choreography with the UCDC Shining/Elite Stars. They are working on a new exhibition routine – A Michael Jackson Medley. Wesley, who danced at the MTV Video Music Awards this past year, was featured dancer in the Michael Jackson Tribute. Thank you Wesley for all your hard work with our teams. you did a great job!!!

Hip Hop Duo – Chonique Sneed and Lisette Bustamante visited UCDC in January 2010.

The Junior and Senior Jazz Companies started the year off right with new choreography for their teams… Look for these new hip-hop dances at Hollywood Connection in Feb. at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville. A special thank you to all the dancers for all your hard work during these classes.

Christopher Tyler visits UCDC!!!

On December 5th-7th Christopher Tyler traveled to UCDC to choreograph 2 competition numbers. He worked with the Minis and Megas on their new junior hip-hop production and the Sr. Hip-Hop Team. He also taught 2 levels of master classes on Saturday morning. Thank you to everyone who attended the classes and to Christopher for another amazing weekend.

Miss Wrenicycle 2009

On Saturday Night, December 5th, Rachel Wyatt danced her way to the crown of Miss Wrenicycle 2009. Rachel won Evening Gown, Casual Wear, and Grand Talent. She was happily crowned by Faith Pickney, Miss Wrenicycle 2008, a former UCDC student. Also competing in the pageant were UCDC students Nicole Shingleton and Emily Sloan who was awarded fifth runner-up. Peg Leg Bates Tap Challenge 2009

Thank you to the tappers who participated in the annual Peg Leg Bates Tap Challenge. This was our 10th season participating in this event which helps promote scholarships for kids to dance along with the domestic violence awareness. Tappers include Emily D’Ornellas, Belle Hunsinger, Abbey Anne Freeman, Loren Clark, Katie Bowman, Chelsea Lilland, and Landon Monroe. An extra huge thank you to teachers Staci Quinn and Taylor Lentz for dancing once again at this event. Great Job Tappers!!

Jazz Companies Start the Year Off Great At JUMP!

Three UCDC Jazz companies attended Jump Dance Convention November 14th & 15th 2009 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, SC. The Megas, Juniors, and Seniors took classes all weekend and also competed at the competition on Saturday night. The highest award of the weekend was awarded to Tara Moore. She won Overall Junior VIP of the entire competition. Check out the other outstanding performers and team results below… GOOD WORK Jazz companies…we are so proud of you!!!
